“Kotahitanga is the concept of togetherness. We have come together for our Hapori (community) to create a wonderful treasure. We are looking forward to sharing stories with our mokopuna while we play. This is the first time in South Canterbury where stories inspired by the sea and some of the local creation legends will be shared in a outdoor play space. Locals and visitors can informally learn and reflect on how Māori and European settlers made Te Tihi-o-Maru, Timaru, an important stop on their journey and their home.”
